ABOUND is an Insanejournal roleplay community. That's it. We, as the mods, decided that we'd go for something a little different. Instead of using your run-of-the-mill city-style game, one of the mods had the idea, and ran with it. We hope it makes for an interesting game, and that people like the premise. For ease of playing meetings, heat sharing, and interactions between the players, we settled on within 50 miles of Monterey, California. Think of the app like Tinder. It'll tell you who's nearby! The Ko-fi link is actually set to go nowhere. The idea was to make it look as authentic as possible. So, no, we don't expect anyone to pay to play at the community. Honestly? The mod who had the original idea looked up words that started with A/B/O, and abound was the best of the choices. Plus, love abounds, joy abounds, and we hope that fun abounds. Yes, the guidelines are the rules for the community. They're the same basic rules that most communities have, just set up to read like they're app guidelines. So things like not being a jerk, characters must be over 18, keep the age of your character within 5 years of the PB's age, etc. If the wording is still confusing, a plain version of the rules, written in the normal community style can be found here. By whatever username your character would have on an app of this sort. If your character would base their username on their real name (i.e. a character named James Nickles, their username would be jnickles or jnick) can also do so on the community, but it's generally more fun to come up with something funny or clever based on a name, occupation, etc. You can, within reason. Your character will not be allowed to force other characters to be used for their heat/rut without the explicit consent of the other player. If you want to write narratives about them doing things like that with NPCs, it would be far less problematic. Also, keep in mind that if you do work out a scene like that between your character and another that characters are likely to warn each other about bad or scary people. This will likely lead to your character being shut out by a vast majority of other characters. Tread lightly and remember that your choices, much like your character's, will guide how your gameplay goes. Instead of a blanket yes or no, we ask that you go to the mod dropbox and drop us a line to approve of the character concept if it's anything that you have a question about. The mods love interesting character concepts, and will likely either say yes outright, or will work with you to round the concept out into something that will fit the community. Rapists, murderers, and pedophiles. Using being raped in the past, or having been targeted by a pedophile when the character was young is perfectly fine, but your character will not be allowed if they rape, murder, or harm children in any way.
